Depression

What is Depression?

Depression, like anxiety, is a part of life. As humans, we feel a large range of emotions everyday. We all go through highs and lows throughout the day, and throughout life. However, some individuals have a more intense depression, which requires more support to work through.

Symptoms of depression include:

Symptoms include:

  • Indecisiveness

  • Low self-worth

  • Lack of motivation

  • Sleeping more or less than usual

  • Feeling life is meaningless

  • Apathy or numbness

  • Hopelessness

  • Lack of interest or pleasure in doing things.

Treatments:

Firstly, it is important to work inside out to discover the root causes of different emotions. It's also helpful to learn to identify emotions so that we can pinpoint the difficulties (ex: is it sadness, or is it inferiority feelings?)
Sometimes depression is due to low self-esteem, and negative thoughts. It can be helpful to learn to reframe thoughts. It is also helpful to accept ourselves and the world around us.
Depression is often caused by feeling life is monotonous and meaningless, I often start with digging deeper to help you find out what gives you meaning. It can help to figure out both who we are, and what we value in life.

We must become meaning makers in life, creating sense and purpose through our decisions.
